Billericay Town has confirmed the departure of goalkeeper, Alan Julian, with former Northern Ireland under 21 international putting pen to paper on a contract with fellow National League South outfit, Hampton & Richmond Borough.
The 37-year-old stopper hit the headlines back in October 2019 by advancing to score a late equaliser for Billericay against Sutton United in an Emirates FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie.
Julian has already featured for his new club during pre-season. Speaking to www.hamptonfc.net, he explained: “I’m really happy to sign and everything about the club is very positive.
“It’s a fantastic group of lads who are young, talented and enthusiastic. I’ve played against the gaffer (Gary McCann) a number of times over the years and it’s nice to be on the same side as him.
“From what I’ve seen, I’m really expecting a successful season. Obviously we will take each game as it comes, but I’m very confident we can achieve something as we’ve got all the right ingredients in spirit, ability and management. I just can’t wait to get started.”
Meanwhile, Billericay used Twitter to express their gratitude to the New Lodge favourite, posting: “Thank you for the memories Jules and we wish you the very best.”
