SOUTHEND UNITED have confirmed that defender, Rob Kiernan, has left the club after his contract was ended by mutual consent.
Kiernan’s time at Roots Hall was blighted by a serious knee injury sustained shortly after his move south from Scottish outfit, Rangers. He has featured 23 times for the troubled Blues this season, netting once.
The player – who has also featured for the likes of Watford, Wigan Athletic, Birmingham City as well as representing the Republic of Ireland at under 21 and several youth levels – is now expected to link up with California-based Orange County FC after agreeing on terms with the club.
