Michaela Kirk hit a half-century as Lightning condemned the Sunrisers to a fourth successive defeat, leaving them pointless at the foot of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy table.

Sunrisers had posted 206/9 with Naomi Dattani top-scoring with 65 off 92 balls, while Kelly Castle hit 52 from 66 during a 72-minute stint in the middle – Teresa Graves with 4/39 the pick of the host’s bowlers.

Castle followed up her antics with the bat by taking 2/24. However, again the visitors came up short. Kirk scored 57 off 66, while Abi Freeborn reached 44 but it was all to no avail.
