Leyton Orient v Exeter City – Sky Bet League Two – Breyer Group Stadium – Tuesday 7pm – Preview

Peter Kitchen believes recent away performances have shown Ross Embleton and his Leyton Orient side a direct route towards the Sky Bet League Two play-off places.

Back-to-back victories at Tranmer Rovers and Stevenage have seen the O’s begin to motor up the table and Kitchen believes Embleton must now deploy similar tactics at Brisbane Road.

“We’ve played on the front foot and with a bit of authority this past week,” Kitchen told Yellow Sport.

“We certainly have a group good enough to do that, as we have just proved. The important thing now is not to fix something which isn’t broken.

“Stability in the selection and getting forward in numbers suits us best. We now have a great opportunity to make ground on the top seven with these successive home games.”

Kitchen was fully aware that Orient faced a tough task against an Exeter City side beaten just once this season and already looking every bit promotion contenders.

“Of course, it’s going to be a difficult game – but it’s winnable,” Kitchen added.

“Exeter displayed a bit of vulnerability at Southend recently. They can be got at. They seem to dominate possession in most games. But we are capable of fighting fire with fire – play a high line, remain watertight at the back, and ensuring they are harried – don’t give them any time to settle into a rhythm.

“Six points against Tranmere and Stevenage is a perfect return. But we must start taking points off the teams towards the top if, we want to be taken seriously as a genuine contender.”

Peter Kitchen’s prediction: Leyton Orient 1-1 Exeter City
