Kitch calls on O’s to pull out all the stops

Leyton Orient v Swindon Town – Sky Bet League Two – Breyer Group Stadium – Tuesday (7:45pm) – Preview

Peter Kitchen acknowledged that Leyton Orient will need to be at their very best if they are to prize a victory from their Sky Bet League Two clash with Swindon Town at the Breyer Group Stadium.

The in-form Robins arrive in E10 unbeaten in four league outings and having made Emirates FA Cup progress against Walsall at the weekend.

“We’ll need to pull out all the stops,” Kitchen told Yellow Sport.

“Swindon rank amongst the favourites for promotion – much like ourselves. Putting one over them would give our credentials a tremendous boost ahead of a clutch of very winnable games.

“Swindon like to play with a back five and have a reasonable defensive record, while in Tyreece Simpson and Jack Payne they have a potent goal threat which has plundered seventeen between them to date this season.”

Kitchen continued: “But we must focus on exactly what we bring to the table. Draws have been costly, but we have scored more and conceded less than Swindon. It’s a game we must target to close the gap and send out a message to our promotion rivals that Leyton Orient are in it for the long haul.

“Kenny Jackett knows the squad needs an addition or two in the New Year and I’ve no doubt has already identified targets to come in and boost the group. But on our day, these players have provided enough evidence to suggest we aren’t far off where we want to be.

“In the meantime, we need to follow on from last Saturday’s thrashing of Tranmere. Be brave, take these home games to the opposition and ensure we are ready to strike when those above us falter.”

Peter Kitchen’s prediction: Leyton Orient 2-1 Swindon Town
