Old Southendian 3-1 Bishop’s Stortford Swifts
CONNOR LANE was pleased with his Old Southendian side after they recorded a 3-1 ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Premier Division success over Bishop’s Stortford Swifts at Garon Park.
Ryan Stillwell’s free-kick handed the Old Boys the lead before further goals from Nick Hennessey and Craig Paton confirmed a vital victory, edging the home side away from the relegation zone.
“I’m very happy with our performance today,” Lane told Yellow Sport.
“We know we could have scored a few more. Their goalkeeper pulled off some great saves denying Harry Decosta and Craig Paton. But we were solid at the back and took chances when they came along.
“Connor Burrows had a superb debut, complimenting a brilliant defensive display. This was out third league victory on the bounce. We don’t plan on stopping there either.”
