Old Southendian 2-2 Shenfield AFC
CONNOR LANE heaped praise on his battling Old Southendian side after they twice came from behind to earn a share of the ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Premier Division spoils with a resolute Shenfield side at Garon Park.
Elliot Hemmings and a spot-kick from Ed Gould cancelled out strikes from Luke Williamson and Ben Absoln for the visitors, who belittled their own lowly league position.
“I’m delighted that we didn’t throw in the towel – particularly after twice falling behind,” Lane told Yellow Sport.
“In the past, we would have perhaps run out of ideas and given up, but this game has displayed our improvement this season.
“We’ve only lost one of our last eight matches now. We pressed hard for a winning goal, but Shenfield were decent – We wasn’t at our best but I think the draw was a fair result.”
