Having been put in to bat, the home side posted 194/9 with Grant Apicella hitting an impressive unbeaten 58, while Kiran Mistry chipped in with 43 off 24 deliveries – Henry Williams (3/17) and Joe Madren (3/37) the pick of the Old Boys attack.

Wickets continued to tumble. Waj Ahmed – 41 off 76 balls – and Kaden Threadgold (33) had provided a platform for the visitors. However, James Walker and Archie Cook each took two for the home side to set up a dramatic finish.

Madren followed up his earlier performance with the ball by hitting Aaron Hills across the rope with two balls to spare. The Old Boys are level on points with second-placed Epping as a result.
