Leigh On Sea’s second string leapfrogged Old Southendian & Southchurch after recording a 44-run victory at Garon Park.

An unbeaten 54 from Ross Keeley coupled with Prashanth Natarajan’s solid 53 provided the foundation for the visitors’ 211/8 – Jordan Taylor, Jope Madren and Henry Williams each taking two wickets for the Old Boys.

Waj Ahmed was again the pick of the home sides’ top order, hitting 42. But Natarajan (3/8 and George Thurlow (3/26) did the bulk of the damage as the Old Boys were dismissed inside 38 overs.

The win moves Leigh into fourth place, keeping alive their outside hope of promotion alive.
