Leigh-On-Sea outline a cricketing pathway for youth

Ambitious Leigh-On-Sea Cricket Club has made their intentions to play at a higher level very clear and has developed a strong foundation for enthusiastic young players to take their first steps towards being a part of an exciting future.

Leigh is an ECB Club Mark accredited club that has youth cricket at its epicentre. They have a rich and proud history of providing cricket for youth members, running fully inclusive sides from under 7s up to under 19s.

Focus is on fun and enjoyment, whilst learning new skills and building long-lasting friendships. In the older age groups, cricket becomes more competitive, where the club has been successful in winning cups and league titles.

Leigh-On-Sea Head of Youth Cricket, Stuart Elliott, explained: “We are very fortunate to have fantastic ECB qualified youth coaches who give up their free time to run training sessions and manage our teams on match days.

“Our coaches are existing players and also youth parents who keen to be involved, which we very much encourage.

“Dependent on Covid rules, we are planning to start this seasons youth training sessions on Friday, April 23 at Chalkwell Park from 6.30pm.

“Anyone with children wishing to try cricket, please come along, you will be made very welcome. I’ll be communicating the details of the sessions shortly.”
