Lambing Week starts at Barleylands Farm Park in Billericay this weekend where visitors will be able to meet the newborn lambs and may even see a live birth.
As well as fun interactive sheep-themed activities including a trail and biscuit decorating, the Barleylands shepherds will be on hand every day to talk about the flock and answer questions.
Barleylands Shepherd, Geoff Wakeling said: “Lambing is one of the most magical times of the year, and we’re looking forward to the arrival of some beautiful newborns.
“We’ve got a few more sheep this year including some lovely new mums and are expecting between 20 and 30 lambs born over the course of the 10 days or so.”
The week coincides with half-term and Barleylands encourages the public to get involved, suggesting names for the new arrivals, asking questions and spending time observing the sheep in the lambing nursery.
Away from the farm park, visitors can stay involved keeping an eye on the 24-hour live LamCam and finding out more about the expectant mums on the daily ‘Top Trumps’ profiles on Facebook.
Lambing Week at Barleylands February 15-23 , every day 10am-5pm.
