A group of local anglers have once again come together to compete in the Dianne Hoskyn Charity Carp Match, raising much-needed funds for the Southend Cancer Unit.
The annual event which is staged in Eastwood was fished over five nights and raised an impressive £1,485 with donations still coming in.
Following his success last year, the winning weight again went to Dan Macmanus weighing in at 82lbs. Meanwhile, Phil Mackenzie landed the biggest Carp at 20lbs 10ounces.
Speaking to Yellow Sport, Angler and organiser Paul Rashbrook said; “I would like to thank all our sponsors Korda, Angling Direct of Rayleigh, Reeled in Tackle Shop of Rochford, FMS Foils, and Gladwells Animal Food in Rayleigh.
“I also would like to thank everyone who has taken part and helped raise money for such an important cause. My mum, who the charity match is named after, would be so proud.”
