Sky Bet League Two

Crewe Alexandra v AFC Wimbledon – Mornflake Stadium

AFC Wimbledon face a sizable examination of their play-off credentials when they head to promotion hopefuls Crewe Alexandra.

The Dons were surprisingly beaten 2-0 by Newport County last time out. Speaking to www.afcwimbledon.co.uk, boss Johnnie Jackson, said: “We had a lot of play in their final third. A lot of penalty box entries, a lot of crosses and a lot of shots.

“We’ve had enough to get something out of the game. What I will say is that for all of that, we probably haven’t tested the goalkeeper enough.

“That final bit of quality was lacking. They defended their box well because we put them under a lot of pressure. It wasn’t our day.”

Looking towards the trip to the North West, Jackson added: “We’re seventh, with seven games to go, it’s a big opportunity. It’s a mini-season.

“It’s a game that we could’ve come away from with something. Every team that’s in our position will have slip-ups. We get another opportunity against Crewe Alexandra.”

Sutton United v Accrington Stanley – Gander Green Lane

Basement club Sutton United hopes to enhance their chances of survival when they take on Accrington Stanely at the VBS Community Stadium on Saturday.

United produced a dogged display and earned a priceless victory over fellow strugglers Forest Green Rovers last time out, closing the gap to three points.

Josh Coley netted the only goal of the game after six minutes to earn a 1-0 triumph. The clean sheet was the first under Steve Morison’s management.

Accrington head south off the back of a win over Swindon Town, followed by a draw with Notts County. They currently occupy sixteenth place.
