Man arrested after disturbance in Rochford

Police were called to concerns for the welfare of a man in East Street, Rochford, shortly after 8.30am on Saturday April 22.

Officers arrived and found a man who was making threats from inside a property. At that stage, he was carrying a knife.

A road closure was immediately put in place and specialist officers then began engaging with him.

Shortly before 9.50am, officers were able disarm the man to ensure he was no threat to himself or others.

A man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
