A man has been charged following an incident which led to the A12 to be closed at Stanway.
Police were called to reports of concerns for a man on a bridge over the road near to Junction 26 shortly after 11.15am on Tuesday October 10.
Officers attended and worked to resolve the situation as quickly and as safely as possible.
This meant the road had to be closed.
The man was brought to safety at around 4.50pm and the road was re-opened
Simon Graham, 54, of Hunting Gate, Colchester, has now been charged with wilful obstruction of a highway and intentionally/recklessly causing a public nuisance.
He will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
