Man charged following Hornchurch pub stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident at a pub in Hornchurch.

Phillip Kemps, 29, of Redbridge, was charged today, Tuesday July 26, and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court later the same day.

He was remanded in custody and will appear next on Monday August 22 at a court to be determined.

The charge relates to an incident that took place in a pub on the High Street, Hornchurch, at around midnight on Saturday July 23.

A 23-year-old man was taken to an east London hospital with stab wounds that were assessed as non-life threatening.

Police would like to remind the public that nothing should be shared, posted or otherwise published that could risk prejudicing future court proceedings. This includes any further sharing of video or images relating to the incidents.
