Man dies after incident in Woodford Green

Detectives have launched an investigation following a stabbing in Woodford Green.

Police were called at about 12:10am on Friday, June 3 to reports of a fight at a venue on Chigwell Road.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, believed aged in his 30s, suffering from stab injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased is believed to be 39-year-old Lamar Jackson of Hackney.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith said: “This attack happened at a party and we know that a large number of people would have been in attendance. I would urge anyone who is yet to speak with us to come forward and let us know what you saw.

“It is possible that events leading up to the stabbing were captured on people’s phones. Please take a look and call us. It is vital that we establish what happened.”
