Man dies in Thorpe Bay collision

A penioner has died in a collision in Southend today.

Officers were called to reports of a single vehicle collision in Maplin Way, Thorpe Bay, just before 2pm.

A man in his 70s died at the scene.

At this stage it is believed he became unwell while behind the wheel.

The road was closed for a number of hours but has now fully re-opened.
