Detectives have begun an investigation after a man was found dead at an address in Westcliff.

Police were called to an address in London Road shortly after 1.20pm yesterday (Sunday February 13) to reports of a man in his 40s found injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is being treated as suspicious and anyone who has seen people is being asked to contact police.

Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe, who’s leading the investigation, said: “I need anyone who saw anything, or has any CCTV, dash or doorbell footage for the time between Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon to come forward.

“I believe there will have been people coming and going from the address during that time and, as it is on a busy row of shops, I think someone will have seen the people we need to speak to.

“I’m also keen to speak to anyone who has witnessed any unusual activity at the address, including people going in and out, in the last week.”

If you have any information you can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk or use the ‘Live Chat’ button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
