Man in court in connection with knifepoint robberies in Basildon

A man has been charged in connection with two knifepoint robberies in Basildon on Sunday April 12.
The two incidents took place at the Murco service station and Cellar Plus, both in Whitmore Way.
Shaun Cooper, 42, of no fixed address, is charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of possession of a knife or sharp pointed article in a public place.
He appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday April 14. No pleas were entered and he is next due to appear in court on Tuesday May 12.
