A man has been seriously injured after being struck by a car in Chichester Road, Southend.
The man, aged in his 40s, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after the incident at around 8pm tonight, Tuesday July 13.
The car failed to stop at the scene.
Chichester Road is likely to remain closed through the night and into the morning.
Anyone who has not yet spoken to police and either witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of it or the moments leading up to it should call 101 quoting incident 1229 of today, 13 July.
