Man injured in Brentwood collision dies in hospital

A man has died following a collision in Brentwood earlier this month.

A black Volkswagen Golf and a blue BMW 320i in Doddinghurst Road, near the Brentwood Leisure Centre, at 7.35pm on Friday February 2.

Two passengers in the BMW – a man and a woman – were seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The man, aged in his 30s, died there eight days later.

The driver of the BMW – a 36 year-old man from Romford – was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

He was also taken to hospital and has since been released under investigation.

The driver of the Golf was also taken to hospital.
