A man suffered multiple serious injuries following a collision involving three cars in Basildon in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called at 2.15am on Sunday November 24 to the Southend-bound A127 near the Mayflower Retail Park where a Range Rover, a Vauxhall Zafira Tourer and an Audi A4 had been involved in the collision.
The Range Rover driver left the scene before officers arrived. The vehicle was left behind.
Two people were taken to hospital. One was the Audi driver, a 31-year-old woman from Billericay. She was later discharged and arrested on suspicion of drug-driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
A 38-year-old man from Billericay suffered multiple fractures, which were described as potentially life changing.
Enquiries remain ongoing to find the driver of the Range Rover.
