Man suffers serious injuries in Chelmsford assault

Police were called at about 8.25pm this evening, Tuesday 30 April, to reports of an assault in Avon Road, Chelmsford where an 18-year-old man was seriously injured.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers and emergency service colleagues will be in the area of Avon Road and the nearby field for several hours.
