Man suffers stab wounds in Southend

Police are investigating a serious incident during which a man sustained a number of stab wounds in Southend yesterday evening, Friday February 24.

Officers were alerted to the incident, at the junction of York Road and Wesley Road, in the city, shortly before 6.30pm.

The incident took place at about 6.05pm.

The victim, a man aged in his 20s, was confronted by a group of people during which he sustained a number of stab wounds.

His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Police are appealing for people living in York Road, Wesley Road, Albert Road, Stanley Road and St Leonard’s Road to check any doorbell, dash cam or CCTV footage they may have of the area between 5.45pm and 6.15pm.
