A MAN had to undergo surgery for a broken jaw after being attacked in Grays earlier this month.

Essex Police is hunting for the attacker, who punched the 40-year-old victim in the face on Saturday, October 12.

The incident occurred on the forecourt of the Esso petrol station on the A1013 Stanford Road, at roughly half past midnight.

The attacker was a blond man, who drove off in a black Ford Focus.

A police spokesman said: “We have spoken to a number of witnesses but are looking to speak to anyone else who was in the area at the time, who saw what happened.”

Anybody with information was asked to dial 101 and ask for DC Nicola Hadfield at Grays CID, then quote crime reference 42/162535/19.
