Ryan 1-2 Old Southendian Reserves

DAVID MANLEY hailed a solid display from his Old Southendian Reserve side as they snatched three ProKit UK Essex Olympian League points at struggling Ryan FC.

Olly Tatton-Bennett’s spot-kick handed the Old Boys an advantage. However, the spirited hosts levelled the score as they looked to pull away from the foot of the table.

However, Old Southendian were not to be denied their second league success of the campaign. Luke Stillwell nodding home the winner following some tricky wing-play from Ben Franklin.

“It was a solid performance from our boys today – we played some nice football all over the park,” Manley told Yellow Sport.

“We looked dangerous every time we attacked as well as comfortable at the back.

“That said, we couldn’t find the third goal – it was important our work rate didn’t drop off and we kept concentrating up until the final whistle.

“Back-to-back wins gives us some good momentum now so we need to build on this in the following weeks”
