Old Southendian Reserves 1-1 Corinthians
DAVID MANLEY was left with mixed feelings but ultimately was overall satisfied after his Old Southendian Reserve side snatched a share of the ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Division Two spoils with a strong Corinthians outfit at a damp Garon Park.
The visitors had grabbed the lead midway through the second half and the Stambridge-based side looked on course for all three points.
However, Ben Franklin arrived to had home a last-gasp leveller, leaving the Old Boys comfortably placed in midtable and establishing a run of positive results.
“It was a day of mixed emotions,” Manley told Yellow Sport.
“Obviously, getting the equaliser in the last minute, there were scenes of jubilation. But we felt we dominated the second half and even after getting the equaliser we had chances to win it.
“Perhaps a draw feels like a bit like a loss at the moment. That said, the boy’s effort was superb and we’re now unbeaten in four so hopefully, the run will continue.”
