Man’s body discovered in Walthamstow

Detectives are investigating following the discovery of a man’s body in Walthamstow.

Police were called by a member of the public at approximately 1:40pm on Monday, August 24 to St James Park, E17, after a person was found unresponsive.

A man, aged in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. Formal identification awaits.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

At this stage the death is being treated as suspicious.
