McCallum double lifts Daggers

Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1 Maidenhead United

Paul McCallum netted twice during the opening half to ensure Dagenham & Redbridge all three Vanarama National League points against Maidenhead United at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

McCallum tapped home just before the quarter of an hour mark after the unlucky Angelo Balanta had seen his header rebound off both posts. Then two minutes later he sealed the points, following up after Myles Weston’s effort had been saved by Magpies stopper, Taye Ashby-Hammond.

Remy Clerima gave the visitors hope after the interval. However, their winless run was extended to six matches – The Daggers holding firm to extend their own unbeaten sequence to three.

Dagenham & Redbridge return to Vanarama National League action on Saturday, March 13 when they take on Stockport County at Edgeley Park (3pm).
