McMahon pleased with Daggers progress

Dagenham & Redbridge v Stockport County – Victoria Road – Vanarama National League – Saturday 3pm

Dagenham & Redbridge v Stockport County – Preview:

Daryl McMahon had was left with mixed feelings after Dagenham & Redbridge’s Vanarama National League draw at Wrexham.

The resolute Daggers secured their third-successive clean sheet from the Racecourse Ground stalemate, enhancing their hopes of avoiding relegation. Nevertheless, despite their improvement, McMahon – who would have been happy with a point ahead of kick-off – was left slightly disappointed his side hadn’t claimed all three.

“Yes, probably before the game (I’d have taken a draw),” he told

“You are coming to Wrexham and they are a team on the up, last couple of results. They’ve signed some good players this week as well.

“But after the game, not really, because I thought we were excellent again today.

“I thought we were the better team today. I thought we defended our box really well – their goalkeeper had got Man of the Match – I think that tells its own story as well. But it was another very, very good performance from us.”

The draw moved Dagenham two points clear of the dropzone and with no midweek fixture, the Irishman was keen to work with his players ahead of this weekend’s clash with misfiring Stockport County at Victoria Road.

“Yes, definitely. It’s nice to be able to get back out on the training ground again,” the Daggers chief added.

“Hopefully, have some bodies back who are injured – get some training into them. And we look forward to welcoming Stockport next Saturday.”
