McMahon set for Halifax test

Dagenham & Redbridge v FC Halifax Town – Vanarama National League – Chigwell Construction Stadium – Saturday 3pm – Preview

A midweek draw at Stockport County extended Dagenham & Redbridge’s unbeaten Vanarama National League sequence to seven matches, leaving them six points outside the play-off places with five games to play.

It’s still a tall order for the Daggers to extend their season, with the possibility of a return to the Football League, but they will fancy their chances of extending the run when FC Halifax Town visit the Chigwell Construction Stadium on Saturday.

Despite occupying the final play-off place, the Yorkshireman has been somewhat inconsistent of late, winning two and losing three of their last five league outings.

They are always hard to play against. I think Pete has done a really good job there,” McMahon explained.

“They’ve played numerous different formations – they normally play a 3-4-2 but they have played games with four at the back – four centre-halves – big and organised.

“I think we’ve got to understand the strengths and weaknesses of individuals within their group. And most importantly is to focus on ourselves, make sure we continue our good run and perform how we can perform, especially at home. I really want us to make our home ground a fortress.”
