Notts County v Dagenham & Redbridge – Meadow Lane – Buildbase FA Trophy Second Round – Saturday 3pm

DARYL McMahon takes his Dagenham & Redbridge side to Meadow Lane, free from the pressures of a Vanarama National League relegation battle, but ultimately eyeing up a morale-boosting Buildbase FA Trophy run as he looks to build momentum at the Victoria Road club.

The Daggers are without a win in nine league matches. However, a goalless draw with Torquay United last time out moved McMahon’s side two points clear of the dropzone and the new chief would have been pleased with a first clean sheet in the league since late September, offering him something to build on.

McMahon has been busy behind the scenes, shaping his backroom team with the addition of Steve Gritt as his assistant and Dave Jupp in the fitness & conditioning/first-team coach role.

While Dagenham look to build up a head of steam, Notts County have now adapted to life outside the Football League and are eying up a swift return as well as a Wembley day out to boot.

The Magpies beat fellow promotion hopefuls, Bromley, last time out and will provide McMahon and his charges with a sizable test to overcome if they are to enhance their own Trophy aspirations.
