Mixed fortuned for Southend Ladies

SOUTHEND LADIES Hockey first XI endured mixed fortunes from a weekend East Division 2SE double-header.

A 3-0 defeat against Havering was followed by a 2-1 triumph over Blackheath.

Antonia Tidy-Jones and Collette Ager were on target for Southend – Kristina Kabailaite catching the eye with an impressive performance.

Southend’s second team went down by seven goals to three against Chelmsford in Essex Division Two.

Charlotte Sturges, Natalie Bell and Katie Lester scored for the Seasiders – Sturges earning the Player of the Match award,

Antonia Tidy-Jones scored all the goals as second-placed Southend’s thirds beat Waltham Forest by three unanswered goals in Essex Division Four. Southend didn’t have it all their own way – goalkeeper, Sasha Cornell producing an impressive performance as her side finished the season unbeaten.

Elsewhere, Southend fourths went down by the odd goal in three to Chelmsford in Essex Division Four. Dani Jones impressed throughout the contest – Maria Allen with the consolation goal.
