Sheffield United v Tottenham Hotspur – Bramall Lane – Premier League – Thursday 6pm
Sheffield United v Tottenham Hotspur – Preview;
Back-to-back defeats have left the experts quizzing whether Sheffield United have lost their way after an otherwise decent Premier League campaign.
However, ahead of their visit to Bramall Lane, Tottenham chief, Jose Mourinho insisted that Chris Wilder’s side sill offered a considerable threat and that it would be foolish to write the Blades off at this stage of the season.
“I think they are doing fantastic,” Mourinho explained.
“Wilder is doing an amazing job, I don’t think many people would expect them to be doing what they are doing. They are still probably dreaming of a Champions League spot if fifth gives that possibility.
“They are fighting for a Europa League spot and that is amazing for a team that comes from the Championship. If they had a couple of negative results after the lockdown, the results don’t tell me much.”
The Spurs chief continued: “The defeat at Newcastle playing with ten men for such a long time, is not a dramatic result – to lose at Old Trafford is not a dramatic result and to be so unlucky to lose against Arsenal in the last minute is not a dramatic result.
“They’re not something that is going to change my idea that they are a good team they are the result of fantastic work that Wilder is doing there.
“Looking at their match against us in our stadium, they were so, so good, they were so, so strong so my boys felt it. They know they are a very difficult opponent for tomorrow.”
