SOUTHEND PRIORS have confirmed that Tom Mowle will continue his role as captain for the 2020/21 season.
The Priors – Southend Rugby Club’s second string – enjoyed a stellar campaign under Mowle’s leadership before their campaign was brought to an early conclusion, securing a top-four play-off place and reaching the semi-final stage of the Essex Cup.
The player also marked his own swift development with a debut for the Saxons’ earlier in the term.
Southend Saxons’ Director of Rugby, Josh ward, enthused: “Tom’s development over the past twelve months has been one of the most pleasing and obvious.
“This is a direct result of his personal application and desire to improve, these are the behaviours and good habits we expect of our people, it’s a skill in itself. Having guys like Tom in senior roles is pivotal as they are hugely influential in getting the best out of everyone.
“He’s a great person, he cares hugely about the club, our group and I’m really looking forward to seeing him grow and develop further when we return.”
