Moyes insistent that Leeds prep was nothing special

Leeds United 1-2 West Ham United – Reaction

David Moyes insisted that his West Ham United side hadn’t prepared any differently to face Leeds United, despite twice exposing the hosts’ with what proved to be match-winning set-piece goals.

Tomas Soucek and Angelo Ogbonna profited from perfect deliveries from Jarrod Bowen and Aaron Creswell: “No, we didn’t, we didn’t even do any more practice than what we would have done, in fact, we did none,” the Scotsman explained.

“We have prepped other things but we didn’t do any practice on it.
We have great delivery with Aaron Cresswell, we have players that are good in their air but it is a big part of football, scoring from set-pieces and not conceding from them.

“They attacked the ball really well and there was a couple more we could have scored from headers.”

It was a decent performance from the East Londoner, who recovered from Mateusz Klich’s twice-taken early spot-kick to climb into fifth place in the table: “I thought we played well at times, I thought Leeds did as well but we were expecting it from them, to create lots of chances and to get forward,” Moyes added.

“I thought their goalkeeper was outstanding with some of his saves and he kept them in the game.

“We had chances, we had good chances to get ourselves further in front but we didn’t take them.”
