Sheffield United 1-0 West Ham United – Reaction
DAVID MOYES thought his West Ham United side were the victims of a harsh late decision, costing them a valuable point at Bramall Lane.
Oli McBurnie profited from David Martin’s wayward kick to hand the Blades all three points, but a controversial VAR call in stoppage-time denied West Ham a share of the spoils. Robert Snodgrass the man left deflated – his strike chalked off due to a handball from Declan Rice in the build-up.
Hammers boss, Moyes, made it clear where he stood on the decision: “Looked a good goal to me,” he bemoaned.
“Declan does great, does everything right. Good pass and finish. Looked good to me. I’ve seen a replay and it still looks a really good goal.
On the injury to Lukasz Fabianski which saw the pole limp off early in the game, Moyes explained: “It looks like a recurrence of his injury.”
The stopper will have tests tomorrow, but it looks likely he will be sidelined, which will come as a huge blow to the struggling east Londoners.
