Nap-hand Daggers are back on top
Dagenham & Redbridge v Solihull Moors – Vanarama National League – The Chigwell Construction Stadium – Report
Dagenham & Redbridge 5-1 Solihul Moors
Dagenham & Redbridge moved back to the top of the Vanarama National League after coming from behind to thump Solihull Moors by five goals to one at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
It hadn’t started well for the home side. Sixth-minute substitute, James Ball handing the Midlanders the lead midway through the opening half.
However, Paul McCallum profited from Josh Walker’s toil to level and Walker, in turn, spun the game around by converting from the spot three minutes later.
Mo Sagaf teed up Scott Wilson to make it 3-1 fourteen minutes from time. But the Daggers were not finished. Myles Weston’s centre was met by Mauro Vilhete – the home side now out of sight.
Leading marksman, McCallum added gloss to the scoreline, beating Solihull stopper Ryan Boot from a second penalty after Scott Wilson was felled by Jordan Cranston.
The result leaves Dagenham a point clear of Chesterfield at the top. They return to Vanarama National League action on Saturday, October 2 when Altrincham are the visitors to the Chigwell Construction Stadium (3pm).
