Old Southendian Reserves 5-1 Rayleigh Town Reserves

Old Southendian Reserves took a significant step away from the Essex Olympian League Division Two relegation zone following their thumping 5-1 victory over fellow strugglers, Rayleigh Town Reserves, at Garon Park.

Nico Dubochet bagged a brace for the home side. Jared Brand, George Borley and Like Stillwell were all on target.

The Old Boys, who led 2-0 at the break, moved three places above the dropzone. “It was an important three points and a dominant display aside from a ten-minute spell in each half where they had some pressure,” Old Boys boss, Rob Johnson, told Yellow Sport.

“We were clinical in front of goal, an area we have struggled in of late, so that was pleasing.”
