The regions Vanarama National League football clubs have received a timely boost with the news that the Premier League have sent out their annual solidarity payments three months in advance.
Many clubs are facing up to an uncertain future due to the lack of income during the COVID-19 pandemic, including local National League sides Dagenham & Redbridge, Chelmsford City, Concord Rangers and Braintree Town.
A statement from the National League Chairman, Brian Barwick, said: “I am delighted that the relationship between the Premier League and The National League remains so strong.
“We are very grateful that the Premier League have advanced us monies to be able to distribute to our clubs in the coming days.
“It is a gesture that will bring some welcome relief to many of the clubs in our league. It is appreciated.”
