New digital car park for Barking

Shoppers, commuters and local business in Barking are set to benefit from the opening of a new digital car park which offers an increased variety of booking and payment methods.

The newly revamped car park at the Vicarage Field Shopping Centre is now operated by, the UK’s fastest growing parking technology provider.

As well as traditional methods of payment via card and coin at kiosks, there is now the option to book and pay for parking via mobile phone through and a downloadable app from the site.

The alternative methods of payment are designed to reduce queues and boost contactless payment at the car park which has more than 500 spaces.

Harrison Woods, CEO at, said: “The varied range of booking and payment methods now available at Vicarage Field Shopping Centre will benefit a diverse set of customers, from local businesses needing to park while hoping to increase footfall, to shoppers making a quick visit or those commuting into London.”

Those needing to book parking over a longer period, such as commuters looking for weekly and monthly parking, can now book via QR code signage.

Harrison added: “Digital parking will make life easier for customers, while those who prefer a more traditional payment method still have that option.”

Located on Ripple Road in central Barking, the car park itself has two levels. It can also be used by members of The Gym Group London Barking who are allowed two hours of free parking and who will be able to validate their parking via by simply entering their registration plate details.
