Crawley Town v Southend United – Sky Bet League Two – The People’s Pension Stadium – Saturday (3pm) – Preview
There’s little time for Mark Molesley and his struggling Southend United side to feel sorry for themselves as they look to break their Sky bet League Two duck and pick up points against a Crawley Town side sitting fourth in the table after back-to-back victories.
Blues head to the People’s Pension Stadium off the back of five defeats in all competitions – the most recent a 2-1 setback against Morecambe at Roots Hall – a result which left Southend anchored to the bottom of the EFL without a point.
“First and foremost, we’ve got to keep working hard and keep believing in ourselves,” the Blues boss explained after that particular loss.
“There’s no time to feel sorry for ourselves. Yes, the league table doesn’t look great at the moment but it’s three games.
“We’re six weeks into a project, we’ve had probably our most experienced players not available yet, and we’re a young side at the moment learning their way.
Molesley added: “By the time our experienced players come back, the further we get into our process, the more weeks we have with the players, the more we should see some progress.”
Jeevesie’s prediction: Crawley Town 3-0 Southend United
