Isuzu FA Vase Final

Romford bounced back from their Play-Off defeat to Sporting Bengal United last week, to conclude their season with silverware in the Isuzu FA Vase Final at Wembley.

The Boro – in their first appearance at the stadium since losing 1-0 to Bromley in the 1948/49 FA Amateur Cup Final, ran out 3-0 winners over Essex Senior League rivals Great Wakering Rovers with Hassan Nalbant netting twice and former Oxford United midfielder Sam Deering also on target for the Rookery Hill outfit.

ProKit UK Essex Olympian League

With the majority of the clubs having concluded their season and Rayleigh Town having clinched the title by four points over Old Southendian in second place, only two league matches were played over the weekend in the ProKit UK Essex Olympian League – Catholic United ran out 6-2 winners over Old Chelmsfordians at the Len Forge Centre, with Franklin Craik hitting a hat-trick and Callum Matthews (2) and James Warder also on target.  Matthew Crick scored both goals for the visitors.

Reemiah Larue and Hayes Thomas were Bishop’s Stortford Swifts goal scorers in their 2-2 draw against Harold Wood Athletic at Silver Leys.  Mark Afedzie-Hayford and Talor Gibson netted for Harold Wood.
