Tom Oakley provided the fireworks with both bat and ball, producing a Man of the Match display to help Brentwood ease to a 126-run Gooch Division success over Shenfield at the Old County Ground

Oakley hit an unbeaten century off 99 balls – a knock which included ten boundaries, while Ben Sach was also amongst the runs, reaching 58 as the home side posted 241/7 – Mehad Khan with 3/39 the pick of the Shenfield attack.

With 100* already in the bag, Oakley bagged an impressive 5/31, while Eddie Ballard took 3/11 as Shenfield were knocked over inside 36 overs for just 115, ensuring Brentwood head into the final week of the season in touch with the leaders, Wanstead & Snaresbrook.

Ollie Ekers, top-scored from the visitors with 27 – the Shenfield skipper their only batsman to reach the 20’s on what proved to be a tough day all round.
