HIGHLY-RATED 18-year-old defender, Shadrach Ogie, has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal with the Breyer Group Stadium club.
The Republic of Ireland youth international was handed his O’s debut in their 2-0 leasing.com Trophy tie with Southend United and has also spent time on loan with both Bishop’s Stortford and Dover Athletic where he continued to impress.
Speaking to www.leytonorient.com, the Limerick-born player enthused: “I’m delighted.
“I started my professional career at this club, and have really enjoyed my two years here.”
“The loan to Dover was one I feel I really needed, and I feel like I had really good experience – and got positive feedback from the players and manager there too.”
O’s boss, Ross Embleton, added: “He’s an exciting prospect.
“A loan is an important part of a player’s development, and we all know what an unforgiving league the National League is.”
“He needed to go out and understand what it’s like to be in front of a crowd, to have the responsibility to play for three points each week.”
“I think he’ll come back from this knowing what it’s all bout, it was a tough experience, but one he really embraced.”
