Old Southendian Reserves 0-5 Epping Town
BEN MANLEY could barely hide his frustration and disappointment after his Old Southendian Reserve side crashed to a heavy five-goal ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Division Two defeat at the hands of much-fancied Epping Town at Garon Park.
Epping lead at the break thanks to a Bradley Gayer strike. And the visitors ensured there was no recovery from the Seasiders by plundering a further four goals after the interval, through Glen Warwick, Tommie Turner and an Alex Paraskeva brace.
“It was a real horror show – a bad day at the office,” Manley told Yellow Sport.
“I thought the first half was fairly even, but after the break, we conceded three in just under ten minutes – completely killing the contest.
“The first goal was a poor one to concede by our standards – we simply didn’t get going.
“We had one or two reasonable chances, but capitulated. To fall apart like that was criminal – against a side like Epping, you’re going to get punished.
“We now need to dust ourselves down and go again next week in the Essex Cup.”
