Old Southendian produced a stirring performance, putting Leigh Ramblers to the sword by four goals to one in their latest warm-up match at Garon Park.

Mitch Ali, Callum Laidlaim and Craig Paton netted during an impressive opening period from the home side, while Taylor Turner added a fourth after the restart. Nathan Dewberry’s spectacular free-kick, a crumb of comfort for the Ramblers.

“It was a terrific performance,” Old Boys boss, Altan Ali told Yellow Sport.
“Of course, we are pleased with the result as well as what we have got out of the game.

“We are a step nearer where we want to be, come the opening Essex Olympian League fixtures next week.”
