George Barnacle’s majestic unbeaten 102 provided the foundation for their sizable success over an Old Boys side that again provided an opportunity to youth.

Brooks chipped in with 41 and both James Palmer Palmer and Luke Edwards hit 39 as the visitors posted 299/6 – Callum Powrie taking two wickets for 47 in response.

The Old Boys batters struggled against a fluent Hornchurch attack. Isaac Burgess offered notable resistance with his maiden half-century. However, Freddie Barnacle’s six for 16 from nine overs did the bulk of the damage to see Hornchurch home with some to spare.
