Old Boys make their point to move off the bottom

Old Southendian 1-1 Kelvedon Hatch

Old Southendian moved off the bottom of the ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Premier Division table following a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Kelvedon Hatch at Garon Park.

The bright weather conditions enhanced a decent spectacle with Mitchell Ali following up last weekends hat-trick with a crisp strike from twelve yards to hand the Old Boys a first-half advantage.

Kelvedon hit back to earn a share of the spoils – Ryan Scott converting from the spot, despite the Old Boys remonstrance.

“We were disappointed with the penalty – I thought their boy made the most of it,” Old Boys’ Conor Lane told Yellow Sport.

“I thought we started well and enjoyed plenty of the ball. However, after we’d made changes at half-time, Kelvedon pushed on. I think it was only a matter of time before they scored.

“They had a few chances in the latter stages but Pete Loveday made some great saves. We have moved off the bottom and now need to push on.”
